Small-Medium Consumer
Non-half hourly metered supplies, quarterly paid accounts

What is a medium-small supply?
The majority of the electricity supplies in the UK are through meters that are read manually either monthly or quarterly. All your usage is paid for on these readings and if they are not taken then your bills are based on an ‘industry average’ for your meter as an ‘estimate’. Many companies run for years on estimated readings and can suffer large reconciliations when the meter reading is finally taken. The meters are graded in what are termed ‘profiles’, these describe the type of usage they are designed for. The lowest business profile is ‘03’ which is designed for stable low loads ie: an office with lights and computers, the highest profile is ‘08’ which takes large peak loads. All these supplies are termed NHH (non-half hourly) meters.

The Market:
The majority of NHH prices remain valid for longer than the HH market as the electricity tends to bought ahead by the suppliers rather than on the open daily market. Prices for NHH supplies can be valid for seven days if not more.
With NHH supplies the T&Cs around termination dates can be more severe than the larger supplies and many companies fall into the trap of not terminating their contracts in due time.

What can we do?
Your account manager will provide prices based on your profile and take you through the complex process of tendering and transfer. As an additional service your account manager will ensure that going forward your contracts are managed and termination logged as per the suppliers T&Cs
