Background:

In the last year, and going forward, the UK has become a net importer of gas. This is due to the North Sea being depleted faster than predicted. The mild winter and increased infrastructure for greater imports have reduced wholesale prices, however many supply companies are still selling from pre bought positions. If however there is a cold snap and the engineering works on the import pipelines slip behind expect business gas prices to rise again.
