08 Jun 08 - Record oil price pushes gas higher

Record Oil prices are driving costs higher. Oil has topped $146 a barrel on the world markets. Unfortunately the government pegged the gas prices to that of oil in the 1970's, this has led to forward gas prices for 2009 delivery peaking at £1.13 per therm. Businesses renewing their contracts in 2009 will be looking at 100% increases in costs. Where will this end?
